HR Staff Availability and Appointments
HR Staff is currently working hybrid schedules consisting of both in-office and remote work. While we do our best to have someone on-site every business day, we may not always be available for unscheduled drop-ins.
Please contact one of us to make an appointment for a zoom or in person meeting. Employees are encouraged to communicate with us via phone or email for all items that do not require a zoom or in-person meeting.

Department Summary
The ultimate goal and primary objectives of the Human Resources department are to hire the most qualified, highly skilled individuals to serve the citizens of Edmonds and to provide City staff with training, benefits and information that allow them to do their jobs in the best possible way.

Human Resources Department
The Human Resources Department manages recruiting and selecting new employees; administers employee benefits, assists employees with leave requests, develops city wide training programs, manages the City's classification and compensation program; develops and implements Human Resources policies and procedures; and directs labor relations and negotiation efforts.
Additional areas of responsibility that fall under Human Resources includes administration of the City's safety and workers' compensation programs; City liaison for the Edmonds Disability Board, Chief Examiner/Secretary for the Civil Service Commission; participating on the Citizen's Commission for the Compensation of Elected Officials and the MEBT Committee.
